Girls Excelling in Math and Science (GEMS) is a mentoring program committed to helping female middle school students in Prince George's County public schools develop and foster a love and appreciation of science and applied math.  In addition to performing experiments and going on fun and educational field trips, the girls work in small groups with University of Maryland undergraduates and learn about careers and education in math and science.
